There was no new register of COVID-19 in Queensland overnight, has announced the State Government (17).
Currently, there are 8 active cases in the state, whit 1,091 total confirmed cases and 727,913 tests conducted.
“So there has been no evidence of community transmission in Queensland now for 28 days. This is great news but of course, it rests on every single Queenslander”, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.
Queensland borders are closed to Victoria, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.
“We do not have any intentions of opening any borders whilst there is community transmission active in Victoria and in New South Wales,” she said.
“I think we’re going to continue to see restrictions in Victoria up until Christmas time, that’s very unfortunate for people living there but it’s a serious situation.
“You only have to look at what’s happening around the world and we definitely don’t want to see that happening here.”
