The Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium will be introducing new live programs on Sundays. These will be in addition to the established Saturday programs that, according to Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, have already proven to be popular among stargazers and space enthusiasts.
“We’re excited to offer more to see and do at one of Brisbane’s best destinations with the launch of the new Sunday Afternoon Live shows at the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium,” Cr Schrinner said.
The planetarium’s expert astronomers host Saturday and Sunday shows. They are expected to provide immersive views of the night sky and provide audiences with some interesting facts about the known universe.
“If you’ve ever wondered what and where the dark side of the Moon really is, we’ll take you there on a journey of discovery without having to leave Earth,” Planetarium astronomer Duncan Waldron said.
“Audiences will relax under the breathtaking starry night sky before being whisked off, past the giant planets of our Solar System, through the Oort Cloud of comets and into the depths of space.
“Our Afternoon Live shows bring the Universe to you from the comfort of our amazing Cosmic Skydome.”
