Brisbane Community Helpers is an initiative built by Bec Baker, a courageous and inspiring local woman dedicated to helping others.
The organisation offers help to North and Southside residents whether taking them to appointments, shopping, completing tasks and even lending an ear to those that need to talk.
Bec’s latest program offered by the Brisbane Community Helpers assists locals that have lost work due to COVID-19.

“Interview Ready” offers a complete package of assistance to those that are seeking employment.
“Losing a job is hard, especially with the thought of potentially losing your home or car. I just want to help people” says Ms Baker.
The service is free and based on resume building, proofreading, makeup and styling, mindset coaching and even a new interview outfit. Bec has coordinated the initiative so that it will cost you nothing. “Everyone involved is offering their services for free.”
The services that the program offers are provided by businesses and career professionals such as:
- Impact Persona
- Stacey Power Empire
- Career Voice
- Connect Within
- Meg Cleary Coaching
- Mightymac Promotions
- Liz’s Lips
Interview Ready program was initially set up to help victims of COVID-19; however, Bec’s enormous heart prevents hear from turning anyone away.
“I know what it is like to have nothing and now I just want to give back,” she says.
Brisbane Community Helper’s also offers an abundance of support to Brisbane residents such as Bushfire fundraisers, Secret Santa, Shout a Hospital Worker and Quarantine Helpers.
