The COVID-19 vaccine will become more accessible to Ipswich and Gold Coast residents next week with the opening of two new community vaccination centres.

The new centres are in response to the growing demand for immunisations from Ipswich and Gold Coast Residents.

The new centres will be located at:

  • Ipswich — the former Harvey Norman showroom, accessible via the Nicholas Street Mall (opens Tuesday 20 July 2021)
  • Gold Coast — adjacent to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on the Gold Coast Highway in Broadbeach (opens Monday 26 July 2021)

Receiving your jab at these centres will be free. The Ipswich one will be open Monday to Saturday and the Gold Coast one seven days a week.

Queensland is continuing to grow its subsequent work of vaccination hubs to provide access to more people sooner. So far, Queensland Health has delivered more than 740,000 vaccinations.

In Ipswich, more than 20,000 vaccinations have been administered. Member for Ipswich Jennifer Howard encourages more people to get their shot.

“This new centre is an important part of our fight against COVID-19, and I encourage eligible Ipswich residents to come forward for vaccination.”

To get your jab, register your interest with Queensland Health. If you’re eligible and appointments are available in your area, you’ll be contacted.
